Announcing Pro-Teens™ Forum

We're happy to announce the formation of our Pro-Teens™ Forum at GeoVi's Home for New Life. As the word suggests, we are "pro" teens! My pastor has been teaching on wisdom and prayer this summer. Weeknight services focuses on learning how to pray and Sunday services teaches us about wisdom. Last Sunday during his sermon, he used teens as an example.

He let us we know we must learn the nature of a thing or person in order to understand it. In using teens, he assured us that it would be impractical to expect a teen to act/behave as a 25-year old would (or as an adult.) If we understood the nature of a teen, we'd know their behavior and expect them to behave true to that nature.

What I took away from that (I do not have children) is parents should listen, get to know and give more than just quality time to their children (teens). Any time you spend with someone you love is quality time. I feel quality time was created just to give parents who consider their kids a burden an excuse. "Well, I spent thirty minutes of 'quality time' with Sarah today. What more can she want?" That is totally absurd to me!

The Pro-Teens™ Forum is open! Parents and teens can post about things that are on their minds. My parents were given the gift of parenting from God. There are other parents who also have this special gift/anointing. Please share your wisdom and answer questions, give advice and suggestions who need answers.

Of course, Jesus is the answer to everything but He works through us!

Registration is totally free. You can register by selecting "register" and the next time, just "login." Registration is required to help with spam and erroneous posts. A Home not an Institution

There is some stigma associated with "homes for pregnant girls" because of the operation of group homes in the 50's and 60's. Imagine this, things change! I'm thankful they do and we progress forward instead of remaining stagnant or digressing back to the past.

GeoVi's Home is planned to be home away from home for pregnant teens who would prefer to be away from her community during her pregnancy. She and her parents are choosing this difficult situation when parents feel this is when they are needed most. However, putting their daughter's and that of her unborn child's interest at the forefront, this difficult decision is made.

Families can arrange visits during the pregnancy of their sister, friend or daughter. This will depend on a few factors but nothing that will eliminate visits from family.

Teens will be in a loving Christian home with Direct Care Assistants to help them during this new experience. GeoVi's Home has not been built yet but it will be a place for mommies-to-be free! We are offering them alternatives to abortion, dropping out of school, becoming a burden to an already overburdened system or financial burden to parents.
